Joan of Arc is quickly becoming one of my favorite historical subjects and The Warrior Maid is my favorite book about her so far. Though some might find it too soft, the fact is Joan was a soft person. Strong, but soft hearted. If you’re intrigued by her story I suggest this book as a first step/5.

I read this book when I was on a Joan of Arc kick and wanted to learn about her life. I found what I can only assume is an original copy of the pre edition in a used bookstore. The story is incredibly sad and yet also inspiring as one might expect from a tale about a 19 year old martyr who was burned at 4/5.
